Using RotoMorph and Rotoplasm Tutors For Organic ChemistryThe Organic Chemistry Tutor, RotoMorph, and the RotoLab are applications for mobile apps, but they're a little different from most others out there. They're geared toward organic chemistry and help facilitate the acquisition of new skills as well as use in the classroom. How do they stack up?The RotoLab is an application that is different from the rest for two reasons. It works on the principle of rotational motion. It guides the student through the process of creating a molecular structure. There are two things to keep in mind with this approach. First, the approach to chemical reactions is much different than what most people are used to when reading a chemistry book.In the organic chemistry textbook, chemical reactions are usually directed to one side of the molecule and the rotational motion occurs perpendicular to the direction of the reaction. You need to read the guidebook carefully and take note of how you would use the iPad and the rotary brush to get the desired results. Secondly, it's easy to get frustrated and give up because it doesn't work for everybody.The Rotomorph works similarly to the RotoLab in the way that it guides you through the molecular structure. It does it in a slightly different way. To use the Rotomorph, you have to turn the iPad sideways. When you do this, the brush on the rotogram rotates instead of trac ing in a straight line. The Rotomorph works much like the RotoLab, only the pressure is different.The Rotomorph is unique because it helps you create a unique molecular structure. This means that the rotormorph is particularly useful in learning about the chemical bonding properties of molecules. It's possible to use it to improve one's understanding of proteins, just as easy as looking at an empty section in a book. If you're looking to learn about bonding, the Rotomorph might be right for you.RotoMorph and Rotoplasm Tutors, both provide the structure building tools needed for individual students. Since they are apps, it makes it very convenient to use them on the go. When the time comes to study in the classroom, they'll still be around, ready to help.
